WA Drought Relief Package
Interest Free Loans for Farmers*
Up to $25k for On-Farm Costs
The Cook Government has announced an $8.6 million funding program to support Western Australian farmers during the ongoing drought conditions being experienced across the state.
Primary producers facing financial hardship will be able to apply for one-off payments of up to $5,000 per business to help cover the costs of stockfeed, water and transportation.
In addition to this, there are interest free loans of $25,000 available to cover the costs of stockfeed, water and transportation, as well as to put towards establishing feed silos, water tanks and improved irrigation systems or any other infrastructure that supports drought resilience.
The loan is repayable over five years with no repayments for the first two years. Applications for this loan can be found here and are open until the 30th of November 2024 (or until exhausted).
Have a successful loan approved for your property and you could have a new livestock shelter, grain storage shed or other structure built on your farm with nothing to pay on the first $25,000 for two years.
