An impressive property portfolio of 37,800 hectares of prime farmland owned and located throughout Western Australia’s vast agricultural landscape provides the healthy growing conditions for Wellard’s large scale and efficient production of grain, wool, live sheep, sheep meat, cattle, beef and legumes. As part of the supporting infrastructure to this programme, a large shed was required for the storage of grain and fertiliser on some of the properties.
WHEATBELT STEEL’S ANSWER
The shed designed and constructed was a 1,152 square metre structural steel shed with two sets of sliding doors. One set in the end of the shed and one in the side, which along with the impressive 10m height allows optimum access for machinery such as loaders, tippers, spreaders to load and unload as necessary. The lower walls are 200mm thick 50MPA concrete in a bunker design construction for improved strength and longevity and the building is complemented with translucent skylight sheeting. Wellard Agri had their company logo painted on the roof of the shed making it stand out when viewed from the air.
