“They were very accommodating and built a good high shed for us with great openings and they were very flexible on the layout of the shed for our own special purposes. The installation of the shed was trouble free, quick and professionally done,”
“The quality of the workmanship and finished product is outstanding. We wouldn’t have any hesitation recommending Wheatbelt Steel to anyone that had a requirement for a shed.”

Located in the central Wheatbelt town of Merredin WA, the client owns and operates an efficient logistics company transporting grain, fertiliser, stock and general freight.
A large multi-purpose Deep Ocean Colorbond shed was required for the ongoing service maintenance, cleaning and storage of the modern fleet of prime mover and semi trailer configurations.
The design needed to allow easy access for trucks and the service area needed to be fully enclosed for protection and security .

Colorbond Sheds FAQs
The difference lies in performance requirements. COLORBOND® steel complies with a number of Australian Standards and was designed in Australia for Australian conditions.
Manufactured by BlueScope Steel, with a reputation second to none. COLORBOND® steel is not just powder coated steel – the difference is right there in the name. The colour isn’t simply painted on, it is a specialised process where the colour is literally bonded to the galvanised steel sheet.
It is one of the most advanced steel products in the world, combining the outstanding anti corrosion performance of a ZINCALUME® steel base with a superior paint system. With imported steels you may not have all of these guarantees of quality.
Wheatbelt Steel specialise in the design, fabrication and installation of farm sheds, workshops, industrial sheds, equestrian arenas and aircraft hangars.
Our range further comes with a multitude of options including cantilever, canopies, column removal, concrete flooring and panelling, doors and opening types, gutters and downpipes, mezzanines, skylights and ventilations.
Our in-house production and design capabilities mean we can control costs and quality above all others to provide you a cost-effective turnkey solution.
The manufacturer recommendation is not to touch up any minor damage to your Colorbond, as scratching will not affect the life of the sheet and is rarely obvious to a casual observer.
Should damage be substantial the best practice is to replace the sheet. We particularly recommend against the use of spray cans, as these can result in overspraying of surrounding areas.
The problem might not be immediately obvious, but since overspray paint weathers at a different rate to the oven dried paint on COLORBOND® steel you’ll eventually be left with an unsightly blemish on the sheet
All coloured materials will change colour when exposed to UV light – the paint finish on your car, the clothes on your line, and so on. When it comes to steel building materials, the extent of colour change is influenced by factors such as the colour itself, the aspect, the design of the structure and the environment.
With that in mind, COLORBOND® will not fade as quickly as a powder coated or gloss painted galvanised steel sheet, and is resistant to scratching, chipping or flaking over time.
