Denmark Western Australia
Denmark is a small coastal town in the Great Southern region of Western Australia, located on the Wilson Inlet, approximately 50 kilometers from the rural city of Albany.
The area around Denmark was traditionally inhabited by the Mineng and Bibbulmun Noongar people, who lived in the area from Denmark to Bremer Bay, and up to the Porongurup Ranges, who knew Denmark as Kwoorabup.
Denmark was one of the first areas of Australia sighted by Europeans, originally ovserved in 1622 by the crew of the Leeuwin and again in 1627 by Dutchman Francois Thissen, before first being settled in 1895.
Denmark is home to a pleasant Mediterranean climate, not getting too warm in the summer, with plentiful rainfall without often dropping below freezing in the winter. The area receives a significant amount of rainfall when compared to the cities of Albany and Perth with an annual average of around 1000mm, and 180 rainy days a year.
While originally settled by timber millers, resource depletion led to a decline of the local timber industry by the 1920s, before soldiers stationed in Albany in World War II led to increased tourism for local and international travellers. The value of rich karri loam led to wine growers and hobby farmers moving to the region, and the population rising back up into the thousands, with many more farming the land nearby.
Farm sheds serve a variety of purposes in Western Australia, with such a diverse and strong agricultural industry, and this means a wide range of available farm sheds need to be available for the state’s farmers to choose from and customise.
Wheatbelt Steel offer a range of farm sheds for all industries, including Workshops, Machinery Sheds, Hay Sheds, Fertiliser Sheds, Grain Sheds, Aircraft Hangars, Shearing Sheds Equestrian Sheds and more, to ensure that your needs are not just met, but exceeded.
These sheds can be customised with roller doors or sliding doors, windows, skylights or ventilation, insulation or open bays, mezzanine floors, offices and more.
Buying a shed can be a confusing time, as there is a lot of information to process – particularly if it is your first shed, or your first time purchasing a shed. The experts at Wheatbelt Steel have been providing quality farm sheds to Western Australians for more than 40 years, and are available to help answer any questions and guide you to the best decision for you and your farm when it comes to your new shed.
