Kalbarri Western Australia

Kalbarri is a large coastal resort town in the Mid West Region of Western Australia, and the largest town in the Shire of Northampton.

Kalbarri is a part of the traditional lands of the Nanda people who are recognised as the traditional owners of land and water in the Yanatju region, and Kalbarri National Park is an important heritage site, named after a man from the Nanda tribe.

The area was never settled for farming like much of the Mid-West, and it wasn’t until the 1940’s that fishing and tourism began to grow in the area, and a town was established in 1950.

Today, the town is geared towards tourism and fishing, attracting as many as 200,000 tourists annually, with the population growing by as much to five times in the holiday seasons.

Kalbarri lies in the warm-summer Mediterranean climate zone, bordering the more tropical semi-arid climate zone. Winters are mild with warm days and occasional heavy precipitation, while summers are hot and dry with the occasional storm and an average rainfall of just under 350mm a year.

Much of Kalbarri is national parks, and as such is off limits for the broadacre farming industry that dominates the mid west and wheatbelt regions of Western Australia, however there are a number of hobby farms and poultry farms in the area that produce eggs, grains and livestock.

Farm sheds serve a variety of purposes in Western Australia, with such a diverse and strong agricultural industry, and this means a wide range of available farm sheds need to be available for the state’s farmers to choose from and customise.

Wheatbelt Steel offer a range of farm sheds for all industries, including Workshops, Machinery Sheds, Hay Sheds, Fertiliser Sheds, Grain Sheds, Aircraft Hangars, Shearing Sheds Equestrian Sheds and more, to ensure that your needs are not just met, but exceeded.

These sheds can be customised with roller doors or sliding doors, windows, skylights or ventilation, insulation or open bays, mezzanine floors, offices and more.

Buying a shed can be a confusing time, as there is a lot of information to process – particularly if it is your first shed, or your first time purchasing a shed. The experts at Wheatbelt Steel have been providing quality farm sheds to Western Australians for more than 40 years, and are available to help answer any questions and guide you to the best decision for you and your farm when it comes to your new shed.
