Mandurah Western Australia
Mandurah is a coastal city in the state of Western Australia, approximately 72 kilometers south of Perth, and is the state’s second most populous city.
The Bindjareb Noongar people are the traditional custodians of the area now known as Mandurah, and the name comes from the indigenous name for the region “Manjar” meaning “meeting place” and “Manjoogoordap” meaning “meeting place of the heart,” and remains the name of one of the main roads into the city.
Mandurah was first settled by Thomas Peel, after whom the region was named, and the first settlement was built in modern Woodman Point. The railway line from Perth to Pinjarra, opened in 1893, allowed tourism to flourish.
Population in Mandurah has steadily increased year on year for over 50 years, as urban sprawl has linked the Perth Metropolitan Area with the City of Mandurah.
Mandurah has a typically Mediterranean climate, with hot mostly-dry summers, and mild wetter winters, with average temperatures typically more mild than those of Perth, thanks to the more southern and coastal location.
Mandurah averages more rainfall than Perth also, with an annual average of around 875mm, which results in farmable land, while the large number of sunshine days, coastal location and warm summers makes it a popular tourist location, and the gateway to the greater south.
As well as being the home of the popular Crab Fest, the Mandurah region has many farms with livestock such as cattle and sheep, as well as being home to truffle farming, as well as a substantial equine industry.
Farm sheds serve a variety of purposes in Western Australia, with such a diverse and strong agricultural industry, and this means a wide range of available farm sheds need to be available for the state’s farmers to choose from and customise.
Wheatbelt Steel offer a range of farm sheds for all industries, so if whether you need a Workshop Shed, Machinery Shed, Hay Shed, Fertiliser Shed, Grain Shed, Aircraft Hangar, Shearing Shed, Equestrian Shed, or any type of farm shed, Wheatbelt Steel will ensure that your needs are not just met, but exceeded.
These sheds can be customised with roller doors or sliding doors, windows, skylights or ventilation, insulation or open bays, mezzanine floors, offices and more.
Buying a shed can be a confusing time, as there is a lot of information to process – particularly if it is your first shed, or your first time purchasing a shed. The experts at Wheatbelt Steel have been providing quality farm sheds to Western Australians for more than 40 years, and are available to help answer any questions and guide you to the best decision for you and your farm when it comes to your new shed.
