Narembeen Western Australia

Narembeen is a town located in the Wheatbelt Region of Western Australia, almost 300km east of the capital.

The traditional owners of Narembeen area are the Ballardong Noongar people, and Narembeen means “place of female emus” in the local language.

Narembeen was first surveyed by Europeans in 1836, however settlement didn’t begin until the 1850s, when much like the indigenous name for the area, it became known as Emu Hill until 1925.

The shire of Narembeen covers an area of some 3800 square kilometers, and is an important region for rural agriculture in the Wheatbelt.

Narembeen is home to a hot and semi arid climate, with summers often reaching 40 degrees and rarely having days with a maximum below 30, paired with cold and slightly wetter winters that often reach freezing. Narembeen is quite dry, like much of the Wheatbelt, with an average annual rainfall of 334mm.

Narembeen was originally settled for wheat growing and grazing, and those are its largest industries still. The major industries in the Shire of Narembeen are the production of cereals, beef cattle and wool.

Farm sheds serve a variety of purposes in Western Australia, with such a diverse and strong agricultural industry, and this means a wide range of available farm sheds need to be available for the state’s farmers to choose from and customise.

Wheatbelt Steel offer a range of farm sheds for all industries, including Workshops, Machinery Sheds, Hay Sheds, Fertiliser Sheds, Grain Sheds, Aircraft Hangars, Shearing Sheds Equestrian Sheds and more, to ensure that your needs are not just met, but exceeded.

These sheds can be customised with roller doors or sliding doors, windows, skylights or ventilation, insulation or open bays, mezzanine floors, offices and more.
