Serpentine Western Australia
Serpentine is a town in Western Australia to the southeast of the state capital, and around 30km northeast of Mandurah.
Serpentine was home to the Gnaala Karla Boodja language groups of the Noongar People, who are the traditional custodians of the land we now know as the Murray and Peel Regions.
Serpentine was first settled in the late 1800s, and derives its name from the Serpentine River, thanks to its snakelike nature in its lower reaches.
