Waroona Western Australia
Waroona is a town in the Peel region of Western Australia, located between Pinjarra and Harvey.
While the name comes from an indigenous word, it is not one of the local Pinjarup Noongar people, but one of the Dja Dja Wurrung people of Bendigo Victoria.
The town of Waroona was first settled by Europeans in 1891, when it was known as Drakesbrook, but this was changed in 1895 as Waroona was more popular with the locals.
Today Waroona dam is a popular location for water skiing and freshwater fishing, and attracts locals and tourists alike every summer.
Much like most of the surrounding regions in southern Western Australia, Waroona is home to a temperate Mediterranean climate, however its summers aren’t as warm, and it experiences significantly more rainfall than Perth or Mandurah.
Agricultural industries employ approximately 7.5% of Waroona’s residents, and it is the host of the annual Waroona Agricultural Show, which brings in farmers and families from around the Peel and South West Regions. The main agricultural industries in Waroona are cattle for both dairy and meat, as well as various crops of fruit and vegetables; including potatoes and sweet potatoes, which have a long history of being grown in the shire.
Farm sheds serve a variety of purposes in Western Australia, with such a diverse and strong agricultural industry, and this means a wide range of available farm sheds need to be available for the state’s farmers to choose from and customise.
Wheatbelt Steel offer a range of farm sheds for all industries, including Workshops, Machinery Sheds, Hay Sheds, Fertiliser Sheds, Grain Sheds, Aircraft Hangars, Shearing Sheds Equestrian Sheds and more, to ensure that your needs are not just met, but exceeded.
These sheds can be customised with roller doors or sliding doors, windows, skylights or ventilation, insulation or open bays, mezzanine floors, offices and more.
Buying a shed can be a confusing time, as there is a lot of information to process – particularly if it is your first shed, or your first time purchasing a shed. The experts at Wheatbelt Steel have been providing quality farm sheds to Western Australians for more than 40 years, and are available to help answer any questions and guide you to the best decision for you and your farm when it comes to your new shed.
