What are Grain Sheds?
Grain sheds are purpose-built structures designed to store bulk grain, hay, silage, and other feed products in a safe, weatherproof environment. Unlike traditional silo storage, grain sheds offer greater flexibility and easy access for loading and unloading grain.
Cost-Effective Grain Storage Solutions
Investing in a grain storage shed is a cost-effective alternative to relying on off-farm storage or traditional silos. Grain sheds provide:
- Lower cost per tonne of storage compared to silos.
- Easy access for bulk handling equipment, improving efficiency.
- Multi-use functionality, allowing farmers to store different types of feed and fodder in one location.
Protect Your Stored Grain from Weather and Pests
Unprotected grain is vulnerable to weather damage, moisture build-up, and pest infestations.
Our fully enclosed grain sheds provide superior protection, ensuring your grain remains dry and uncontaminated.
With ventilation and optional aeration systems, we help maintain optimal storage conditions, reducing the risk of spoilage.
Store Hay, Silage and Other Grain for Livestock
Wheatbelt Steel’s grain sheds are versatile structures that can also store hay, silage, and other feed for livestock.
This flexibility with grain shed designs allows farmers to maximise storage efficiency while ensuring feed is readily available throughout the year.
For Australian farmers, ensuring a high-quality fodder storage space is essential for keeping feed safe and maintaining its value.

Grain sheds are a common choice for farmers because they are easy to use and can be used for other purposes. When storing your grain, it is important that it is stored in a space that is dry, ventilated, and clean, as well as being fully enclosed and protected from the elements.
Sheds are often used to store grains that are being dried or that are being temporarily held before being shipped to a processing facility. Unlike traditional silo storage, grain sheds offer greater flexibility and easy access for loading and unloading grain.
